Federal agencies asked Colt for a high performance, high endurance rifle, and Colt responded with the traditional M4 Carbine, with a low profile gas block and a Geissele Mk4 13.5" M-LOK rail and Magpul CTR stock with Magpul Pro steel folding back-up sights and a 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen2 magazine.

The M4 carbine (officially Carbine, Caliber 5.56 mm, M4) is a 5.56×45mm NATO, gas-operated, magazine-fed carbine developed in the United States during the 1980s. It is a shortened version of the M16A2 assault rifle. The M4 is extensively used by the United States Armed Forces, with decisions to largely replace the M16 rifle in United States Army (starting 2010) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) (starting 2016) combat units as the primary infantry weapon and service rifle. The M4 has been adopted by over 60 countries worldwide, and has been described as "one of the defining firearms of the 21st century".

This rifle is made with 100% factory parts from Colt, Geissele and Magpul. Barrel is fully assembled at Colt factory with A2 flash hider, and a Colt low profile gas block, pinned to the barrel by Colt. The LPGB is based upon a full A-frame front sight base, which has been "carved down" so to speak. It is highly desirable for its simplicity and having been pinned to the barrel by Colt, so the LPGB is super secure.
