Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Harrington & Richardson (H&R) is a historic American firearms manufacturer that has a rich legacy spanning over a century. The company was founded in 1871 by Gilbert Harrington and William Richardson in Worcester, Massachusetts. Initially known as Wesson & Harrington, it started as a manufacturer of firearms parts and accessories. H&R became known for producing reliable and affordable firearms, catering to a wide range of customers. In 1986, the company faced financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy. It was subsequently acquired by the Marlin Firearms Company, which itself later became part of the Remington Arms Company. Under new ownership, H&R continued to produce firearms with the same emphasis on affordability and quality.

The H&R American Double Action First Model (3rd Variation) was produced from 1888 to 1998 and was provided with a variety of chamberings, finishes, and barrel lengths giving their customers plenty of options to choose from but that wasn't it, they were also known for the small lightweight design which made them perfect to conceal in pockets. This example is chambered in .38 S&W and features a nickel finish with a 2 1/2" octagon barrel, black checkered grips, and a fixed round blade front sight providing fast sight acquisition.
