I have a Johnson Bye & Co. small frame 7-shot single action revolver, in .22 short caliber, with a birds head grip and spur trigger. 'TYCOON' is stamped on the top strap and the serial number is
0700BN. Manufactured by Iver Johnson and Martin Bye circa 1873 to 1883 prior to the dissolution of their company, which then became Iver Johnson’s Arms Company in 1883 and renamed to Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works in 1884. The partnership of Iver Johnson and Martin Bye intended to manufacture Pepperbox Revolvers. Instead, they manufactured a wide array of small personal weapons they could produce on their highly automated machinery.
