The J. Stevens Crack Shot-26 is a classic American “boys’ rifle” produced by Stevens Arms from 1912 to 1939. It features a single-shot falling-block takedown action operated by an under-lever, an improved mechanism introduced when Stevens redesigned the earlier Crack Shot model around 1912–1913. Chambered primarily in .22 Long Rifle—a popular and affordable cartridge for training and small game—this rifle was also occasionally offered in .32 rimfire. The No. 26 came with either 18- or 20-inch round barrels, a smooth two-piece walnut stock, and was equipped with simple, rugged open sights, making it easy to handle and accurate enough for beginners.
