Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Model 1891was based on a design patented by John Marlin’s collaborator and employee, Lewis L. Hepburn. It had a solid top receiver and loaded through a gate on the right side, similar to the Marlin Model 1889 centerfire rifle (also patented by Hepburn). This was the gun Annie Oakley used in her early shooting matches that won her such great fame. Her Model 1891 was chambered for the .22 rimfire cartridge, but the rifle was also offered in .32 rimfire.
Although not produced until 1895 (and not available until the following year), the second generation of the Model 1891 was called the Model 1892, and was produced until 1916. In 1905, the name was changed from Model 1892 to Model 92. The Model 1892 was an improved version of the Model 1891.
One of the improvements was a modification to the magazine that allowed the .32 Short and .32 Long cartridges to be used interchangeably. With the Model 1891, you had to choose one or the other.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
