The Springfield XD-9 Mod.2 is a refined compact striker-fired semi-automatic pistol produced by Springfield Armory, Inc., developed as an updated evolution of the original XD series to improve ergonomics, concealability, and handling characteristics while maintaining the platform’s established reputation for reliability. Chambered in 9×19mm, the XD-9 Mod.2 is built on a polymer frame with a steel slide and operates using a short-recoil, locked-breech system derived from the HS2000 design.
