Armory, Inc., developed as an updated version of the original XD-S to provide concealed-carry users with improved ergonomics, refined controls, and modern defensive features in a highly concealable package. Chambered in 9×19mm, the XD-S Mod.2 uses a striker-fired, short-recoil operating system and was specifically designed for everyday carry at a time when thin, lightweight defensive pistols were in high demand.
