The 6.5 Creedmoor is a modern rifle cartridge designed specifically for accuracy, efficient long-range performance, and manageable recoil, making it one of the most influential and widely adopted centerfire cartridges of the 21st century. Developed in 2007 by Hornady in collaboration with competitive shooter Dennis DeMille, the cartridge was engineered to outperform traditional .308 Winchester match loads in precision shooting disciplines while still fitting within short-action rifle platforms.
