The STI 2011 Costa Ludus is a premium custom-grade double-stack 1911-style pistol developed by STI International in collaboration with firearms instructor Chris Costa of Costa Ludus. Built on STI’s innovative 2011 platform, it combines the ergonomics and trigger system of the classic 1911 with a high-capacity double-stack magazine design, giving shooters increased ammunition capacity while maintaining the flat recoil impulse and fast handling characteristics of a competition-style pistol. The Costa Ludus series was offered in configurations such as the Costa VIP, Costa Carry Comp, and Costa H.O.S.T., with features including DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) finishes, TreeBark stippled grips, ambidextrous safeties, match-grade barrels, tuned triggers, magwells, and accessory rails depending on the model. The platform was chambered primarily in 9mm and .45 ACP, with competition-inspired features designed for defensive training, tactical use, and high-performance shooting.
