Engineered as a faithful faithful recreation of the legendary Colt Model 1884 Lightning carbine/rifle series, the Taurus Thunderbolt brought 19th-century slide-action rifle shooting into the modern era. Designed to appeal to Cowboy Action Shooting (SASS) competitors and Old West long-gun enthusiasts, the Thunderbolt combines rapid pump-action cycling with high-capacity tubular feeding. Featuring a long 26-inch round barrel housing a 14-round tubular magazine, the Model C38 variant is chambered in the versatile .357 Magnum / .38 Special cartridges. Construction details include a rich factory gloss blued finish, smooth Brazilian hardwood buttstock with an authentic metal crescent buttplate, finely checkered grooved pump slide forend, and an upper tang safety mechanism. This specific example bears serial number BU6286. Finished in deep factory bluing, it features clean roll marks throughout and pristine wood fitment showing near-mint preservation. Mechanically, the slide action operates smoothly, the action locks securely, and the 26-inch bore displays bright, sharp rifling.
