Modeled after the classic Winchester Model 62 gallery rifles of yesteryear, the Taurus Model 72 blends nostalgic slide-action fun with punchy magnum performance. Featuring a full-length tubular magazine holding 12 rounds, an exposed hammer design, and a grooved pump forend, the Model 72 offers fast-handling plinking and small-game hunting capability. The Model 72 in .22 WMR is long discontinued by Taurus, making all-stainless steel examples with the full 23-inch barrel exceedingly rare and highly desirable among rimfire rifle enthusiasts.
This exact rifle, serial number VD6082, was produced in Brazil by Forjas Taurus and imported via Miami, Florida. Chambered in the high-velocity .22 WMR cartridge, it features a 23-inch round stainless steel barrel, 12-round magazine capacity, polished stainless finish, adjustable step-elevator buckhorn rear sight, bolt safety, and smooth hardwood stock with a grooved slide handle. It comes remarkably complete in its original factory outer cardboard box with matching serialized end label, safety keys, and owner's manual paperwork package.
