Patterned after Smith & Wesson's iconic K-frame Military & Police revolvers, the Taurus Model 80 established Forjas Taurus as a formidable international maker of reliable, full-sized service revolvers. Utilizing a solid steel frame, 6-shot swing-out cylinder, and traditional DA/SA action with color case-hardened small parts, the Model 80 delivered exceptional durability and smooth mechanical function. The scarce 3-inch barrel variant offers an ideal compromise between snubnose concealability and full-length sight radius.
This exact revolver, serial number 946994, was produced in Porto Alegre, Brazil and imported via International Distributors Inc. in Miami, Florida. Chambered in .38 Special with a 6-shot cylinder, it features a 3-inch tapered steel barrel, deep factory blued finish, color case-hardened hammer and serrated trigger, green-highlighted ramp front sight, and checkered hardwood grips with brass Taurus medallions.
