This Thompson/Center Contender is a highly versatile, single-shot break-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington, utilizing a premium first-generation (G1) stainless steel frame. This distinctive varmint and precision configuration features an incredibly rare, vintage cast-aluminum folding skeletonized butt-stock manufactured by Pioneer Firearms out of Payson, Arizona, which transforms the compact G1 receiver into a lightweight, packable carbine platform. Balancing the modern metallic chassis design is a contoured, semi-gloss American walnut fore-end bolted to the underside of the match-grade barrel assembly. Optically optimized for extreme long-range target alignment, the rifle is crowned with a highly sought-after, vintage Leupold BR-36x fixed-power target scope complete with an adjustable objective lens for parallax correction, which is anchored securely to the top barrel rail using a matching silver dual-ring mounting system.
