Manufactured by Thompson/Center Arms, the Pennsylvania Match Rifle became highly respected among muzzleloading enthusiasts for its combination of historical styling, excellent workmanship, and exceptional shooting characteristics. Typically chambered in calibers such as .45 or .50, the rifle featured a long octagonal barrel with precision rifling optimized for patched round balls, contributing to remarkable accuracy at traditional target distances.
