The Uberti Model 1866 Carbine is a finely crafted modern reproduction of the famous Winchester Model 1866 lever-action rifle, combining Old West styling with contemporary manufacturing quality to recreate one of the most iconic repeating rifles of the American frontier era. Manufactured by A. Uberti Srl in Italy, the rifle closely follows the design and appearance of the original 1866 “Yellow Boy,” so nicknamed because of its distinctive brass alloy receiver that gave the firearm its unmistakable golden appearance. The original Winchester 1866 was itself an evolution of the Henry rifle, and Uberti’s reproduction faithfully preserves many of the historical features that made the design famous during the late 19th century. The Model 1866 Carbine generally features a shorter barrel and a lighter overall configuration than full rifle variants, making it quicker to handle and more maneuverable for horseback carry, cowboy action shooting, and recreational use. Chamberings commonly include classic revolver cartridges such as .38 Special/.357 Magnum and .44-40 Winchester, allowing shooters to enjoy traditional lever-action performance with modern ammunition availability.
