Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Celebrated globally for its match-grade accuracy and ultra-fast straight-pull bolt action, the Swiss K31 (Karabiner Modell 1931) represents the pinnacle of Swiss military rifle engineering. Produced at Waffenfabrik Bern, the K31 utilizes a short straight-pull bolt mechanism paired with a 25.68-inch barrel chambered in the flat-shooting 7.5x55mm Swiss (GP11) cartridge. Outfitted with an expensive target diopter rear aperture sight assembly and match globe front sight, this target-configured K31 transforms an already legendary service rifle into a tack-driving competition weapon. Bearing matching serial numbers across the receiver, barrel, and bolt body, and preserved in a solid European walnut stock, this diopter-equipped K31 stands as a highly desirable acquisition for target shooters and military surplus purists alike.
This specific example is an authentic Waffenfabrik Bern Schmidt-Rubin K31 rifle bearing matching serial number 694918 on the receiver, barrel, and bolt. Chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss, it features a 25.68-inch barrel, original blued steel finish, direct-mounted target diopter rear aperture sight, globe front sight, and military walnut stock. The blued finish and walnut stock present in fantastic condition, showing crisp Swiss shield engravings, smooth coverage, and light handling character. Mechanically, the straight-pull bolt cycles with precision, lockup is tight, the match trigger breaks razor-sharp, and the 25.68-inch 7.5x55mm barrel bore remains mirror-bright with razor-sharp rifling throughout. Offered complete as pictured with target diopter sights and leather sling, this K31 represents a complete turnkey Swiss target rifle package.
