Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Founded by Bill Wilson in Berryville, Arkansas, Wilson Combat has stood at the absolute zenith of custom American 1911 and high-capacity tactical pistol manufacturing for nearly half a century. Introduced as a ground-up revolution in everyday-carry handguns, the EDC X9 platform combined the match-grade single-action trigger dynamics, ergonomic perfection, and slide geometry of the 1911 with a high-capacity double-stack magazine capacity and a high-strength T6-7075 aluminum frame. The updated EDC X9 2.0 further refined this benchmark system, utilizing a Tri-Top slide profile, a user-serviceable frame layout, a match-grade fluted cone barrel with flush-cut reverse crown, and Wilson's proprietary X-Tac tread frame texturing. Hand-crafted by master pistolsmiths to uncompromising standards, the EDC X9 2.0 is globally celebrated as one of the finest defensive handguns ever produced.
This breathtaking example is a custom-commissioned Wilson Combat EDC X9 2.0 chambered in 9mm, bearing serial number WCX28150 and documented to July 24, 2024, by its factory-original test target. Unlike standard production models, this handgun features an extraordinary two-tone finish: a deep Dragon Scale laser-engraved slide set against a matte black Armor-Tuff aluminum lightrail frame. It comes factory-outfitted with a 4-inch fluted match barrel, red fiber optic front sight, Battlesight rear, ambidextrous thumb safeties, and black/grey G10 Starburst grips housing pewter Wilson Combat medallions. The pistol comes exceptionally complete in its original Wilson Combat embroidered nylon range bag, factory test target shot at 15 yards with Hornady 115gr HAP ammo, detailed Quality Control Checklist initialed by master smiths, spare fiber optic rod packet, cable lock, owner's manual, and two (2) factory 15-round double-stack magazines. The custom Dragon Scale finish and anodizing are in pristine condition, action lockup is glass-smooth, the match trigger breaks crisp at a factory-tuned 3.5–4.5 lbs, and the 4-inch fluted bore is mirror-bright with razor-sharp rifling. A masterpiece of custom tactical art and mechanical perfection.
