Adopted in 1948 by the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), the Zastava M48 Mauser was designed as the definitive post-World War II evolution of the famous German Kar98k rifle. Manufactured at the historic Preduzece 44 factory (Zastava Arms) in Kragujevac, Yugoslavia, the M48 utilized an intermediate-length Mauser Model 98 action engineered with supreme strength, full handguard stock coverage, and a bent bolt handle with a cupped bolt knob cutout on the stock. Built to exacting military standards using premium forged steel and dense European hardwoods, the M48 was preserved by the JNA in state reserve arsenals as a primary strategic defense rifle throughout the Cold War.

This unbelievable, museum-grade example, serial number T95145, is in New Old Stock (NOS) condition, preserved still slathered in its original factory storage cosmoline! It displays 100% all-matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt, magazine floorplate, and hardwood stock. Accompanied by its original serialized factory import box from Brolin Industries, this time-capsule complete set includes the original matching-numbered M48 bayonet with scabbard, leather frog, double leather ammo pouch, leather sling, brass oiler, cleaning pull-through with brush, and original importer manual sheets. NOS Yugoslavian Mausers complete with all original military transit accessories and factory box are exceptionally difficult to find, making this pristine M48 Mauser an ultimate center-piece investment for the military surplus collector.
