Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Introduced in 1873 and forever immortalized as "The Peacemaker," the Colt Single Action Army is the definitive handgun of the American West. First-generation examples manufactured before World War I represent the purest era of Colt hand craftsmanship, combining hand-fitted forged steel with timeless Old West styling. Chambered in the quintessential .45 Colt cartridge and featuring the classic, well-balanced 5.5-inch "Artillery" barrel length, this revolver epitomizes the quintessential frontier sidearm. With stunning custom raised-relief carved Longhorn steer grips, this 1st Gen Peacemaker commands unmistakable presence and stands as a must-have centerpiece for any serious Western or historic Colt collection.
This specific example is an authentic 1912-manufactured First Generation Colt Single Action Army chambered in .45 Colt, bearing matching serial number 324624 on the frame and trigger guard strap. It features the desirable 5.5-inch barrel, fixed sights, cross-pin cylinder latch frame, and custom antique-toned carved grips showcasing an authentic raised Longhorn steer motif. The metal surfaces show an honest, attractive mix of original blue and rich case coloring that blends into an authentic, smooth gunmetal patina, with crisp factory roll marks. Mechanically, the hammer draws back through all four authoritative Colt clicks (C-O-L-T), the cylinder timing is crisp with solid lockup, and the 5.5-inch bore is bright with strong, defined rifling throughout.
