Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this single-action revolver today for a penny-start auction; this is the Colt Single Action Frontier Scout “Q-Series."
The Colt Single Action Frontier Scout “Q-Series” kicked off the entire line’s production in 1957 with a distinctive duo-tone finish, featuring “in-the-white” aluminum alloy frames and grip frames paired with blued steel barrels and cylinders. This configuration was strictly limited to the very first production runs before the suffix was transitioned to avoid visual confusion with the number zero, creating a tight overall production window from 1957 to 1958. Because it represents the absolute birth of the model, this original duo-tone "Q" variant remains uniquely valued by collectors.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Single Action Frontier Scout is a classic rimfire revolver that captures the styling and handling characteristics of Colt’s legendary Single Action Army in a lightweight and economical .22 Long Rifle platform. Featuring a traditional single-action design, fixed sights, and a handy 4¾-inch barrel, it offers excellent balance and enjoyable shooting characteristics for recreational use, training, and collecting. This early-production variant is distinguished by its attractive duo-tone appearance, combining a blued steel barrel and cylinder with a lightweight alloy frame and grip frame left in a natural finish, creating a distinctive visual contrast unique to the model's earliest years. Equipped with black composite grips bearing the iconic Colt rampant horse emblem, the Frontier Scout blends classic Western aesthetics with practical rimfire performance. As one of the original versions produced at the beginning of the Frontier Scout line, it remains particularly appealing to Colt enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate its historical significance, distinctive finish, and connection to the company's storied single-action revolver heritage.
