Built on Smith & Wesson's medium K-frame, the Model 15 was purpose-built for law enforcement agencies and military units desiring the balance of a 4-inch barrel coupled w/ precision target sights. Featuring a red-ramp front sight, fully adjustable rear target sight, target hammer, and smooth DA/SA action geometry, the Model 15 served as the standard sidearm for the U.S. Air Force Security Police as well as numerous sheriff departments across the nation.

This specific example is an authentic Springfield, Massachusetts manufactured Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 bearing serial number 5K4608, produced in 1973. Chambered in time-tested .38 Special, it features a 4-inch pinned barrel, factory blued finish, case-hardened target hammer and trigger, red-ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight, and comfortable Hogue rubber Monogrips. Adding significant police provenance and collector appeal, the left side of the frame features crisp agency markings reading "S. L. Co. SHERIFF". Preserved in great condition w/ clean blued steel, a mirror-bright bore w/ sharp rifling, positive cylinder timing, and a crisp, glass-smooth DA/SA trigger pull, this Model 15-3 is a turn-key law enforcement collectible ready for range recreation or placement in any classic police handgun collection.
