Manufactured between 1996 and 2006, the original Ruger Police Carbine (PC9) was developed as a rugged, lightweight pistol-caliber companion rifle for law enforcement duty officers and home defense. Engineered w/ a reliable blowback action, heavy dead-blow weight mechanism to minimize perceived recoil, and a durable glass-filled polymer stock, the PC9 accepted standard Ruger P-series handgun magazines (P85/P89/P95)—allowing law enforcement officers to share ammunition and magazines between duty sidearm and long gun. Now discontinued, original American-made PC9 rifles hold a devoted cult following among Ruger collectors, PCC enthusiasts, and tactical shooters.
This specific example is an authentic Connecticut-manufactured Ruger PC9 bearing serial number 470-06248, produced in 1997.
