The D.G.F.M. (F.M.A.P.) Argentine Model 1927—often referred to as the “Sistema Colt”—is a licensed copy of the Colt Model 1911 manufactured in Argentina under official agreement with Colt beginning in the late 1920s. Produced at the Fabrica Militar de Armas Portátiles (FMAP) in Rosario under Dirección General de Fabricaciones Militares (DGFM), these pistols were built using Colt-supplied machinery and technical specifications, resulting in firearms that are widely regarded as some of the finest foreign-produced 1911 variants.
