Bryant Ridge's Analysis:

This example is converted to .22 LR for use as a training pistol for the Buenos Aires Police!

The history of the Colt Model 1927 System pistol begins with the enactment of the Secret National Law No.: 11266 / 1923, which in one of its articles budgeted for the acquisition of portable weapons and the knowledge base for their production in the country of Argentina. Due to this law, a commission was appointed to carry it out and in one of its negotiations, it entered into a contract with the Colt firm, in 1927, for it to produce some 10,000 Colt M1911A1 pistols., which would have their own numbering from 1 to 10,000 and markings of the Argentine Army and would be called Colt Cal. 45 Model 1927. It also included the provision of all current and future knowledge on the manufacture of the M1911A1 pistol. Thus, Argentina possessed the entire accumulation of knowledge, in addition to the supervision of Colt technicians to produce the pistols. At this point, the only thing missing was the machinery that would manufacture them, which were ordered from Fritz Werner. This produced not only machines for the manufacture of the pistol but also its ammunition and other weapons and ammunition such as Mauser rifles or Madsen machine guns. All machines are ready for 1933 and stored in the Esteban De Luca arsenal.
In 1938, a bill was raised to create the General Directorate of Military Manufacturing, and in October 1941 the law was promulgated, at which time the industrial scheme that would allow Argentina to self-supply in the event of a conflict of its own began to be put together. own weapons and that in times of peace these same industries will turn to productive activities such as the manufacture of wheels for railways, gas bottles, train wagons, rails, plow discs, etc. By 1945, the "Domingo Matheu" Portable Weapons Military Factory in Rosario was ready, so the machines for the manufacture of pistols were transferred from the Esteba De Luca Arsenal, where the first parts had begun to be manufactured since the year 1943. However,Browning Hi-Power  9mm caliber and manufactured under license.
