The Colt Officer’s Model Match is a premium medium-frame double-action revolver produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company from 1953 to 1972, designed primarily for competitive target shooting and precision handgun matches. It was offered mainly in .22 LR and .38 Special, featuring a six-shot cylinder, Colt’s renowned hand-fitted V-spring action, adjustable Accro target sights, a target-style hammer and trigger, and a heavy 6-inch barrel that provided excellent balance and accuracy. Built on Colt’s medium “E” frame early in production and later transitioning to the improved “J” frame design, the Officer’s Model Match represented one of Colt’s highest-quality target revolvers before the company shifted toward newer designs. Known for its exceptionally smooth action, tight lockup, and superb accuracy, it was a favorite among serious bullseye shooters during the golden era of revolver competition.
