Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 is one of the most significant and collectible American revolvers ever produced, representing the original version of the legendary .44 Magnum before Smith & Wesson began assigning model numbers in 1957. Introduced in 1955, this large N-frame double-action revolver was developed in collaboration with renowned firearms writer Elmer Keith, who championed the development of the powerful .44 Remington Magnum cartridge. Early Pre-Model 29 revolvers were built to the highest standards of Smith & Wesson craftsmanship, featuring a beautifully polished blued finish, finely checkered walnut target stocks, adjustable target sights, and barrel lengths of 4, 6½, and 8? inches. Each revolver was hand-fitted and tuned, resulting in an exceptionally smooth double-action trigger pull and outstanding accuracy. Produced for only a short period before the introduction of the Model 29 designation, these "Pre-29" revolvers are considerably scarcer than later production examples and are highly prized by collectors for their historical significance, exceptional workmanship, and status as the original commercial .44 Magnum revolver. Today, the Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 remains one of the most sought-after classic revolvers, admired for its craftsmanship, pioneering design, and enduring legacy as one of the most influential handguns ever manufactured.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3-day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
