The Ithaca Model 49 "Saddlegun" is a charming and clever piece of mid-century Americana designed to capture the nostalgic spirit of the classic Western frontier. Produced between 1961 and 1979 to capitalize on the massive popularity of television Westerns, this rifle cleverly masquerades as a traditional lever-action repeater while actually utilizing a rugged, single-shot falling-block action. Dropping the lower lever lowers the breechblock to expose the chamber, requiring the shooter to manually load a single .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridge, close the action, and cock the exposed external hammer before every shot. Complete with a non-functional dummy magazine tube included purely to perfect its iconic cowboy silhouette, an elegant checkered hardwood stock, and a design that inherently enforces deliberate, safe shooting habits, the Model 49 earned a legendary status across the United States as the quintessential "first rifle" for generations of young marksmen.

Any orders placed with magazines that are not compliant with your state, county, or city regulations will not ship with your order.
