Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this SUPER RARE double-action revolver today for a penny-start auction; this is the ORIGINAL Korth Sport Revolver!
Founded in 1955, just after the end of the post-war prohibitions on German firearm production. The Willi Korth firm produced only 7,141 revolvers between 1964 and 1981. Each revolver was bench made by one of five full-time gunsmiths, producing only about 120 total revolvers annually with each individual revolver comprising approximately 70 man-hours of work and 600 distinct manufacturing operations. Unlike the then standard mass produced revolvers, Korth components were neither cast nor milled, instead the individual parts were ground from steel forgings and individually hand-fit.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The original Willi Korth Sport Revolver is one of the great European double-action revolvers and remains highly desirable because it represents the early, hand-built era of Korth production rather than the later modern commercial period. Korth was founded in West Germany in 1955, and according to Rock Island Auction, the Willi Korth firm produced only 7,141 revolvers between 1964 and 1981, with the guns being bench-made by a very small team of full-time gunsmiths. Further notes indicate that each revolver required roughly 70 man-hours and around 600 manufacturing operations, which helps explain why early Korth revolvers have long been viewed as the “Swiss watch” equivalent of double-action revolvers. What separates an original Korth Sport from more common high-grade revolvers is the combination of extremely limited production, hand fitting, and mechanical innovation. These were not ordinary production-line revolvers; the parts were made from steel forgings and individually hand-fit, while the 26,000-series Sport models incorporated refinements such as a shrouded ejector rod with a second cylinder lock, a rear-mounted cylinder release lever, and a telescopic mainspring system. Even within the already scarce early Korth production, the early examples are still highly desired by collectors.

The Sport Model was Korth’s serious target and precision-shooting revolver, most often encountered with adjustable sights, and target-style grips. Collectors describe the Korth Sport as a West German "Rolex" revolver designed by Willi Korth in the mid-1960s, with hand-made, hand-fitted construction, a proprietary trigger system, and a removable cylinder/yoke assembly operated by a push-button system. For collectors, the desirability comes from more than just rarity. An original Willi Korth Sport carries the appeal of old-world German craftsmanship, very low output, complex machining, and a level of fit and finish that was never intended for mass-market production. These revolvers were expensive when new, scarce in the United States, and have only become harder to locate in high-originality condition. A true original Korth Sport is not simply a premium .357 revolver; it is a benchmark-grade, hand-built revolver from one of the most respected makers in the world, and its limited production and mechanical sophistication make it a standout piece for advanced revolver collectors.
