The SIG Sauer P238 Equinox is a visually distinctive, limited-production variant of the popular P238 micro-compact pistol, combining refined aesthetics with the proven performance and shootability that define the platform. Produced by SIG Sauer and introduced as part of the expanded P238 lineup around 2010, the Equinox model was designed by SIG’s Custom Shop and stands out for its striking two-tone finish and upgraded sighting system. Like all P238 pistols, it is chambered in .380 ACP and operates using a locked-breech, short-recoil system with a single-action trigger, a design heavily inspired by the Colt Mustang and the broader 1911 family, which contributes to its relatively soft recoil and crisp trigger pull compared to many blowback-operated pocket pistols. The Equinox variant features an anodized black frame paired with a Nitron-coated stainless slide, with the slide’s flats polished to a natural stainless tone to create its signature contrasting appearance, further accented by nickel-finished controls such as the slide stop, safety, and magazine release.
