The Walther P22 is a semi-automatic pistol that uses rimfire ammunition. It has an ergonomic design and is easy to operate, making it a popular choice for informal target shooting and plinking. The pistol has an external hammer and a double- and single-action trigger, with a thumb safety to block the firing pin and an additional safety that prevents firing in the event of accidental drops. The frame is made of black polymer, with a non-slip grip surface and interchangeable backstraps to customize the fit for the user's hand (NOT included in this example). The pistol also features an integral Picatinny rail that allows aftermarket sights and lights to be easily added. The magazine release is located on both sides of the pistol for easy access with the shooter's thumb. The Walther P22 comes with low-profile 3-dot sights that are quick to acquire and interfere minimally when drawing the pistol from a holster or bag. The rear sight can be adjusted for windage using screws.
