Mowrey .40 Cal. Black Powder Octagon Barrel Rifle. Vintage reproduction Allen & Thurber rifle by Mowrey Gun Works. This rifle is an American-made reproduction of the Allen and Thurber Sidehammer Rifle. The gun is in excellent condition with minimal handling marks and features a .40 cal. browned barrel, fancy two-piece tiger maple stock with crescent butt plate, brown steel furniture, and a serial number in the 18,600 range. Overall, one of the most beautiful and well-balanced American-made muzzle loading percussion rifles made that are highly appreciated for their accuracy and will make a fine addition to any vintage muzzleloading rifle collection. The Mowrey Gun Works Allen & Thurber rifles were of exceptional quality and continue to appreciate through the years.
