The Winchester Model 94 Great Western Artist II was one of Winchester’s more premium limited-production presentation rifles, issued as a deluxe follow-up to the Great Western Artist I and limited to only 999 examples. Like the first edition, it was a very expensive rifle when new, especially compared to a standard Model 94 of the same era, and was clearly aimed at serious Winchester and Western art collectors rather than the everyday sporting market. Its desirability comes from the combination of low production, Winchester lever-action heritage, elaborate Western-themed artwork, Bottega C. Giovanelli-signed engraving, and its high-grade presentation format. The Great Western Artist II is especially appealing because it continued the Western art theme in a numbered, collector-focused package, making complete, high-condition examples highly attractive to collectors today.
