The left side of the slide is also marked with a German Eagle/Swastika proof mark, a Waffenamt “WaA11” proof mark, and an “Eagle/623” proof mark. The left side of the frame is marked with a Waffenamt “WaA11” proof mark. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number “C7602”. This example features no import markings.

The F.B. Radom VIS Mod. 35 stands as a testament to interwar Polish industrial capability and a symbol of national defiance. Adopted in 1936, the pistolet wz. 35 Vis was the result of a collaboration between designers Piotr Wilniewczyc and Jan Skrzypinski at the Fabryka Broni in Radom. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, the design successfully fused the ergonomics of the American Colt M1911 with the advanced internal cam-locking system of the Browning Hi-Power. A unique slide-mounted decocking lever was integrated specifically for cavalry use, allowing a mounted soldier to manipulate the weapon with one hand. The pistol’s history is inextricably linked to the tragedy and heroism of World War II. Pre-war examples, often marked with the Polish Eagle, are celebrated for their meticulous craftsmanship and high-polish finish. Following the 1939 invasion, the Radom factory was seized by the German occupation, where the pistol was designated the Pistole P.35(p). While over 300,000 were produced for the Wehrmacht, the weapon also became a tool of the underground; Polish factory workers risked execution to smuggle components to the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), arming resistance fighters for the Warsaw Uprising. Although production was halted post-war in favor of Soviet-standard sidearms, the VIS 35 was reintroduced in 2017, preserving its legacy as an enduring icon of Polish resilience and mechanical sophistication.
