The Ruger Mark I is the original pistol in Ruger’s long-running .22 LR semi-automatic target pistol line, introduced in 1949 as the Ruger Standard Model, with the “Mark I” designation commonly applied after later revisions were introduced in the 1970s for classification. It is chambered in .22 Long Rifle and operates using a simple blowback actionwith a fixed barrel, which contributes to its inherent mechanical accuracy. The pistol uses a single-stack magazine (typically 9 rounds) and features a single-action-only trigger system, meaning the hammer must be manually cocked before each shot.
