Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Manufactured in Kragujevac, Yugoslavia by Zavodi Crvena Zastava (Zastava Arms), the Model 88 (M88) represents a compact, modern derivative evolution of the legendary Tokarev TT-33 and Zastava M57 service sidearms. Chambered in the standard Western 9mm Parabellum cartridge rather than the traditional 7.62x25mm, the M88 was designed specifically for concealability and military/law enforcement backup utility while retaining the indestructible short-recoil Browning-style tilting barrel lockup that made Tokarev derivatives famous across Eastern Europe. Featuring a slide-mounted manual safety lever, removable trigger group module, compact 3.7-inch barrel, and a single-stack magazine with extended floorplate finger rest, the Zastava M88 combines military surplus durability with versatile 9mm utility.
This specific example is an authentic Yugoslavian Zastava M88 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Parabellum, bearing matching serial number 13750 across the slide and frame. Imported by E.P.S. Imports of Chandler, Arizona, it features a 3.7-inch barrel, factory blued finish, smooth European walnut grip panels, combat-style iron sights, slide-mounted safety, and a single-stack steel magazine. The factory blued metal surfaces display a dark, natural military finish showing light handling patina and clean arsenal roll-marks. Mechanically, the action cycles smoothly, slide lockup is tight, the hammer cocks crisply, and the 3.7-inch barrel bore is bright with sharp rifling. Complete with one (1) factory single-stack steel magazine with finger extension, this Zastava M88 offers a great addition for collectors of cold-war European sidearms and military surplus shooters.
